KLANG: In a significant milestone that underscores our growing influence in regional agriculture, De Lettuce Bear (DLB) was recently honoured to host a distinguished delegation of agricultural officials and progressive farmers from Thailand and Indonesia. This high-level visit was facilitated by the Jabatan Pertanian Malaysia (Department of Agriculture Malaysia), which selected DLB as a premier showcase site for the IMT-GT 2025 member countries.
The IMT-GT (Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle) cooperation is a strategic framework designed to accelerate economic development in the region. To be chosen as a benchmark for agricultural innovation and sustainable farming practices is not only a profound honour but a powerful endorsement of our mission and operational excellence.
This visit stands as one of the most meaningful engagements we have hosted, moving beyond commercial interest to a shared vision for food security and technological advancement in Southeast Asia.
A Shared Vision for Agricultural Innovation
The delegation was given an extensive tour of our state-of-the-art smart farming facilities, witnessing firsthand the integration of technology and biology that defines the DLB standard. The focus of the visit was our pioneering achievement: Selenium Biofortified Lettuce – the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.
Beyond Malaysia: Realizing a Regional Dream
Since our inception, De Lettuce Bear has dreamed of creating an impact that transcends national borders. We believe that the future of food security and nutritional well-being in Southeast Asia lies in collaboration, knowledge transfer, and technological adoption.
Hosting this delegation was a tangible step towards realizing that dream. It was a platform to:
- Showcase Malaysian Agritech: Position Malaysia as a leader in modern, sustainable agriculture.
- Foster Knowledge Exchange: Share best practices and learn from the experiences of our Thai and Indonesian counterparts.
- Build Strategic Bridges: Initiate conversations that could lead to future collaborations in research, development, and market access.
The Future is Innovative and Nutritious
While we are proud of our status as the region’s first producer of selenium biofortified lettuce, this is only the beginning. The curiosity and positive feedback from the IMT-GT delegation fuel our commitment to relentless innovation.
De Lettuce Bear remains firmly on its path to unveil more groundbreaking food innovations in the coming months. Our R&D team is actively exploring new frontiers in crop nutrition, flavour profiles, and sustainable farming techniques, all designed to meet the evolving demands of the health-conscious consumer and contribute to a more resilient food system.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Jabatan Pertanian Malaysia for their trust and to the delegates from Thailand and Indonesia for their valuable time and insightful engagement.
This visit reaffirms our belief: at De Lettuce Bear, we are not just growing lettuce; we are growing a healthier, more innovative future for all of Southeast Asia.
