KLANG: The Majlis Apresiasi Akademi Pertanian Negeri Selangor 2025 was held on 25th Novemebr 2025 to commemorate the successful graduation of the first batch of the Selangor Smart Farming Incubator Programme. The initiative, jointly developed by Jabatan Pertanian Negeri Selangor and De Lettuce Bear Marketing Sdn. Bhd. (DLB), represents Malaysia’s first structured incubator focusing on indoor vertical farming, hydroponics, and pesticide-free food production.
This milestone marks a significant advancement in Selangor’s push towards modern, sustainable, and climate-resilient agriculture.


Selangor Pioneers a National First in Modern Agriculture
During the ceremony, Tuan Haji Azahar bin Ibrahim, Director of the Selangor Department of Agriculture, expressed appreciation to DLB for its strategic contributions in ensuring the programme’s successful implementation.

“Smart farming is something new in Malaysia, and Selangor is taking the initiative to lead this challenge together with De Lettuce Bear.” said by Director of the Selangor Department of Agriculture.
His statement underscored Selangor’s leadership in advancing innovative agricultural methods, and highlighted DLB’s central role in bringing vertical farming, IoT-enabled cultivation, and zero-pesticide production into practical implementation. Through DLB’s technology, standards, and operational model, the state is able to align its modern agriculture development with national food security priorities.
Setting the Foundation for Future Cohorts
The successful graduation of the first batch demonstrates how the DLB–Selangor partnership has created a scalable and repeatable incubator model that can be expanded across the state and replicated nationwide. With DLB providing the technical backbone, training environment, and industry-grade farming systems, the programme is positioned to become a long-term platform for Malaysia’s agricultural talent development, accelerating the country’s transition towards high-tech, pesticide-free, and commercially viable indoor food production.
